                                                                                                   Public Notice to Boil Water

Due to (1), the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) has required our water system (2) to notify customers of the need to boil their water prior to consumption.

To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source.

When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, the water system officials will notify you that the water is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.

If you have questions concerning this matter, you may contact (3) at (4).

City of Avery Announcements

The City of Avery is pleased to announce the Red River County HOME Rehabilitation Assistance Program.  Applications can be picked up at City Hall and need to be returned to City Hall by April 6th, 2020.  It is a great program and we hope it will help some of our citizens with their housing needs.

Citizens of Avery the purpose of this announcement is to let you know work will be starting this week on our water tower project.  it is going to require draining our water tower for the necessary repairs that need to be done.  This will mean a reduction in your water pressure for a couple of weeks but we think you will be pleased with the final results.  A big thanks to Mayor Alex Ackley for the countless hours he has spent working on this project and has done a great job along with all the City Council Members past and present.  Your patience is greatly appreciated.
